Professional Marine ROV Services on Vancouver Island
DroneWorX is an excellent choice as an affordable alternative (light marine work) to the bigger, more expensive Marine ROV. Our smaller ROVs offer most of the same operating features as the larger, more expensive ROVs – except more affordable and requires a smaller footprint to operate.
Follow the ROV’s live camera imaging on a monitor communicating with the ROV pilot to capture accurate digital imaging in real time.
Projects listed below can be easily completed using our smaller ROV’s eliminating the need for a costly commercial dive team or the need for larger ROV’s, significantly lowering project costs.
- Able to dive 300ft (can go to 600ft with longer tether)
- Multiple attachments for various marine jobs
- 4k imaging
- Live streaming
- 4hrs dive time
- Recovery / Salvage
- Inspection: moorings, docks, hulls, pipe intakes, marine engineering and aquaculture infrastructure to name a few
- Surveying
- 6000 lumen lights
- Speed 3 knots and can operate in light currents

What does a Marine ROV package offer?
The 4-hour package includes up to 1 hour of travel time, ROV station set up, project walk through, marine imaging, video imaging review, breaking down ROV workstation and cleanup. The 6-hour package offers the same plan with up to 3 hours of travel time and more time on underwater and imaging production.
What is marine imaging production time?
Production time is time spent going over captured videos on a monitor or time spent on the live feed, working with the ROV pilot to achieve the perfect position for getting best imaging.
Can I get drone footage as well as ROV imaging in the same package?
Yes, all marine packages can include drone footage, as well as hull and prop inspection on as many boats as you can fit into the package’s allotted time.
What are the advantages of our ROV vs. a human diver?
Our smaller marine ROVs are safer, move faster, and offer a cost-effective alternative because we can stay in water longer. You can also follow a live feed of the inspection in real time to communicate directly with the pilot.
Can I use a package over several projects or share costs?
Yes, you hire DroneWorX for the allotted time. You can use it for multiple projects, like imaging your hull and your friend’s zincs at the same marina, making it a great idea for cost sharing.
Can you operate the ROV in murky or high-current water?
We can operate in 3 knot currents and shallow light murky water. Our ROV uses intelligent imaging algorithms to filter out white marine flakes caused by plankton and algae.
What distance and depth can the ROV travel?
Horizontal distance depends on tether length and depth. The max ROV depth is up to 400ft, though 200ft is the realistic depth for maximum efficiency.
How do I receive my drone or ROV footage?
We provide a secure, high-speed download link (Dropbox or Google Drive) or an SD drive if video is cropped on site.
